hey all, been having a small coolant leak lately. been looking all over the internet and cant find a part name or number for this thing.. i assmue its some sort of bypass.
it is the metal cylinder with 4 screws at its base and connects to the coolant system. it is on the radiator, passenger side, near the top.

so just to help me wrap my head around the concept of what this thing does.... i assume this allows coolant to flow to the trans when the trans fluid hits a certain temperature?
