Whooping noise that changes frequency when driving. Changed bearings twice.
Hey Guy's,
There's a whooping noise that's quite deafening when driving. It increases with speed. I've changed the front bearings twice, no effect. I do have Motomaster tires, which are loud however had them on another vehicle without nearly as much noise. This is a 2010 Ford Escape 2.5L.
So I'm wondering what else could this be. A few things with this vehicle or about the car is below:
1) Car jerks sharply when switching from reverse to forwards suggesting possible transmission issues.
2) Changed front bearings twice.
3) Has Motomaster (Canadian Tire) tires.
4) Don't think the transmission fluid was changed on this vehicle in the past.
5) When lifted and the front axle is turned, a noise similar to someone pouring ball bearings.
I don't see an obvious dip stick on these models from the engine compartment, try as I might. Nothing marked yellow or even black I can make out.
Cheers,
