Ford Escort This compact car is still commonly seen on the road today with its economical engine and small body, makes for a great daily commuter into the crowded city.

Default 1994L LXi, lack of power. Any ideas?

Hi to everyone,
I have an escort LXi 1994L. when I press the accelerator pedal when setting off it doesnt seem to do anything, unless I floor it as I come off the clutch or come off the clutch extremely slowly with the smallest amount of acceleration. This occurs mostly when the car is cold, after warming up (driving for 20mins) it seems to improve, but is still not perfect.
Someone told me it might be the lambda sensor that is at fault, is this right or could it be something else? Anyone any ideas?
thanks [&:]
