Default 1998 Escort 1401 Code Help Needed

Hi,
My first post. I have a 1998 Escort SE wagon, 2.0L engine. I need to pass Ohio e-check and get a 1401 code. Two years ago I replaced the DPFE sensor (F77Z-9J460-AB) and got an e-check "PASS" then. After about a week the check engine lamp came on for the same 1401 code. I bought the cheapest replacement on eBay and I suspect it failed. So, I guess my question is...where can I get a dependable replacement for the best price? Thanks in advance for any other suggestion or advise. I will still need to pass the 2022 e-check, then not have to after that.

I'm not sure you could obtain that part from any dealer anymore. Usually any auto supply store NAPA, Advance, etc., should be able to come up with one.

Thanks Hanky....was just wondering if anyone had any luck or difficulties with the cheap replacements for about $10.00, like from eBay.

If I want to do the job once, AND if there is any kind of problem with the replacement part, I am willing to pay the extra few cents to purchase locally.
If there is any type problem, wrong part ,defective part etc., I can exchange it easily. If there is any type problem with online purchase , the savings are gone. Your decision.

Thanks again Hanky
Anyone ever use Pull-A-Part? Wonder what they would charge for one or several to try? Parts stores want $55.00 to $95.00...my income effected by current pandemic situation. Just need to pass Ohio e-check. Is there a list of all the vehicles that use that particular part?
Stay safe all

I would think most state emissions testing is suspended for the time being.
