Default 1999 zx2 Heat, or lack thereof

Can anyone tell me why I only have heat when it is warm out? I have a 75 minute commute and the last couple of days have been pretty rough. I have put cardboard in front of the radiator, but that seemed to only work when it was about 20 degrees out. Now that it is below zero and heat would be nice, I got nothing. It does take the chill out (mostly) but the engine tempurature gauge does not even reach the C. Thanks.

Hello and good day to you:

Well I would first look at the Thermostate...If this is not working correctly you would not get Heat to the Heater Core, and the Temp Guage would not Regesiter...the Sensor for this is located near the Thermostat Housing.

Second I would look to a Clog Radiator, or a Heater Core. Have you ever had a Radiator Flush done on this Zx2??

If your Cooling System is not flowing correctly it can cause this effect and serious problems.

Good Luck, and Good Repairing....
