Default 2000 zx2 fuel delivery problem

my friend who lives in pa took a road trip to kentucky to see family and 3 hrs into the ride back the car died and had the car towed back to the family's house. he states that the fuel pump wont turn on so i shipped him a fuel pump,a CCRM, an inerita switch and a PCM because he says the check engine light flashes extreamly fast when you turn the key "on" which is odd because the service engine soon light should be lit steady when the key is "on" and should flash when the car is being driven and the PCM finds a misfire or somthing of that nature. so he gets the parts i shipped him and put them in and tells me that the car still wont start and still no fuel pump. he also says he pourd some gas in the throttle body and tryed to start it and still nothing so it seems to me that this is a major electrical problem but my question is there anything else that controls the fuel pump power besides what i sent him???? and by the way all the fuses are good in the car as well. if i can figure this problem out with out taking 1600 mile road trip (round trip) that would be better. Thank you

I wonder about the crank position sensor. May need to look there. I am assuming fuel pressure was checked also?

Default idle control valve

my wifes escort wont start, the check engine light came on a couple of weeks ago but i was at work so i had her check the fluids and what not, well then it was idleing rough then die'ed. now it wont start, uppon trying to do some trouble shooting i hear a funny noise like an selinoid vibrating, so i narrowed it down to idle control vavle i removed it, called around about price and its kinda expensive, i would like to know if it is bad will it keep the car from starting alltogether, or if it is bad will it just idle rough, it sounds like we are having same problem, the car is getting spark too, my brother inlaw is a certified mechanic as soon as i call him and ask what he thinks i will let you know or if you find out let me know, by the way haynes makes repair book for it, i just ordered it 2 days ago 24.95 not sure whats in it yet but anything is better than nothing. good luck

Idle air control valves have been known to give these symptoms when malfunctioning or defective.

I may be wrong but I think it should still start with idle control valve being bad. Since you have spark, crank sensor should be alright, but how about fuel pressure?
