Default 94 - 1.9 Electrical

Recently obtained this car from original owner. Car has 139,000 miles, problem begin with would not start. Had starter replaced by garage and worked for two days. I took car back to garage and they kept it for two days, and they said it was a electrical problem and they could not locate problem. [:@]

I started looking for myself and with my limited ability checked clutch switch (manual trans.), and starter relay. When I turned key the engine would not crank. I could hear a clicking sound from relay but no action at starter. I replaced both relay, and switch on clutch pedal (prevents from starting in gear). Still had no power going to starter. I then ran a wire from battery (fused) to normally open switch to started. By this means I could start car and using this switch. I found when doing this that instrument lights "Brake, and fuel Cut out" lights were dim at all times except when engaging clutch pedtal. When depressing clutch pedtal these two lights became bright, but car ran fine and there appeared to be no malfuctions.

After driving car like this for two weeks, these two lights started staying bright and the heater blower ran all the time. Speeds worked correctly on blower but did not turn off when ingintion switch was turned off. I turned blower off at blower control, but found battery ran down over night.

I feel it may be the ingintion switch, but I would like some direction on what I should be looking at. The car runs great, but it is 14 yrs old and I don't want to spend more money on it than it is worth.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Bill
