Default 96 Escort will not start

Last week I had a charging problem with my Escort so I replaced the voltage regulator and my Escort alternator was charging again but I noticed the brush set was worn so I bought and installed those too. That is when my problems started, from that time forward my Escort would not start.

List of things checked or replaced:

I have no Spark
I replaced the coil pack
I replaced the alternator (did not have to be replaced)
Checked al fuses

Has anybody had this problem? What should I do next? Thanks for the help ahead of time.

Has anyone ever replaced the Camshaft Position Sensor, Crankshaft Position Sensor or the ECU (computer) and actually fixed the problem?

I finally got the Escort running but it is running rough with the "Check Engine" light on. I had the codes pulled and here is what I got.

DTC P1443
EVAP Emission
Control Valve
Cntrl Valve Malf

What does the above mean?

Thanks

You just say "it won't start".

What happens when you turn the key?

Do you hear the starter actually crank?

Do all your dash lights come on properly?

If you're not getting the starter to crank, my guess is your battery is too low to get the starter to crank. Have your neighbor give you a boost.

That's a lot of bad codes all of a sudden.

Have you pulled the fuse to the ECU to reset it yet? Maybe it's just frazzled from the weird power issues recently.
