i have a 97 ford escort wagon and ive recently had the check engin light come on and the code is p1477. it runs and drives good. advanced auto said it was a clutch stuck code. can this be a easy fix? a solenoid? or possibly filter and fluid change? the filter a fluid wer changed last year before it sat for a year in a guys barn untill i bought it. and yesterday it was shifting very hard jerking me back into seat. can anyone help?

Krupa: if you are lucky it may go away with "Lucas Oil Transmission Fix". It sounds like a valve is stuck and keeps the respective clutch from doing its job. If you are out of luck it may actually require an transmission overhaul. Such are the odds with automatic transmissions.
Disconnect the battery negative and step on the brake for 5 seconds to clear the trouble codes.
