Default Blower Motor

Hello
I have two 1998 Escort ZX2's. The blower motor has been noisy on one for a number of years. I bought a replacement 3 years ago (VDO PM3798) The noise is now unbearable. I took the old one out and soon noticed it is different. Looks the same but the wiring is not. This car was built on April 14, 1998. I looked at the other one (Build Day, September 10, 1997) and the blower motor is different. Most notably there is a cover for the blower motor. None on the one built in April 14, 1998. There are a few differences between the cars. Interior is slightly different. What blower motor model # do I need for the one built in April, 1998? Thank-you.

A dealer would request the VIN and from there , hopefully provide the correct part.
Don't know where you purchased the replacement motor, but if there was more than one possibility ,their listings should have shown that.
You might be able to get the correct part # from a dealership parts dept if there was more than one possibility.
