i have a 99 escort zx2 manual and in the engine there is a loud clattering noise iand i dont know what that means or how to fix it please help out.

Best case scenario you just have a bad bearing in one of your Idler pulleys, may have a bad water pump, harmonic balancer,. Worst case you have a bad engine. Have it checked b4 your time runs out.

its not s uch clatteringbut it sounds like something is hiting just underneath the cam
