I recently purchased a 1997 Ford Escort-wagon (73,000 miles). I drove it for a week and it did fine. Then, a service engine soon light came on with the corresponding code P1443. The code explanation is that there is low flow or no flow from the EVAP purge valve (I think. Different sources give different explanations but, all are in relation to the fuel system's components). Then, one night, I tried to start the vehicle and everytime I turn the key to "start" the horn would honk. I left it alone for a day and tried it again, only to get the same result. Does anyone knowof what thismight be indicative? I'm getting frustrated with manuals that do not have sh*t for troubleshooting sections. Please help.
