I want to remove my seats from my 98 escort and replace the carpet. I'm sure the front seats unbolt. How do I get the back seats out?

 

the seats have a white connector holding them down on both sides. These white connectors have a button on them which must be pressed in. This will release the pin on the seat and allow them to be lifted up. They will lift up easily once the button is pushed, if not, be sure that it it pushed in far enough

99+ cars are different release, this is only for the 98
