I have 94 escort Manuel 5 speed and found 96 automatic they both have 1.9
Motors. How hard would it be to change out the tranny I have From the 96 to the 94? I would like to make automatic for my son?

 

The days of just switching mechanical parts are gone. These vehicles have computers that control many things including the transmission and shifting. It would be cheaper to just buy a car with an automatic transmission.
