gear oil leak

have a 2001 excurision, has gear oil leaking out of the front axle tube, is this the outer seal causeing the problem or is there a inner seal closer to the ring gear and carrier unit, if so how much time will it take to repair

It has an inner seal and it is quite involved to replace . Requires some special seal installer tools.
