05 Expedition Paint
I live in southern Michigan. My Eddie Bauer Exped. that is white has little orange rust colored specs all over it. I just had some paint work done on the truck and the painter didn't have a good expanation for the specs. They do rub out with some effort. His guess was acid rain. Has anyone else experienced this in Michigan or other areas. I had the tailgate rubbed out two years ago and they came back. Also the rear window latch when you open the window is all corroded like electrolisis (excuse spelling) is eating it up. Has white powder all over it as well. Any clues?

I live in southern California and I have a 2000 4x4 EB Expy, its white as well. I've had it for 10 years along with another white car. Both have had the little 'rust specs' in the paint. It is acid rain or call it chemical fallout. Especially in big city areas it happens to all cars. Use clay to rub it out then apply a good coat of wax, thats about all you can do. stay on it. Some have had it buffed out but this removes the clear coat and then you're really screwed.
