Airbag Light On

Airbag Light On
My 2000 Expedition failed inspection because my airbag light is on. My husband looked online and tried trouble shooting it. The only information he found was to disconnect the battery and then watch how many times the light blinks when you turn the car on. It doesn't blink. It just comes on as soon as you turn the key and remains lit. Does anyone have a clue? HELP!

Generally the RCM (Restraints Control Module) will be lit continuously only for a few seconds as it runs the system diagnostic and proves out, then will/may flash a LFC trouble code.. If it's just steady on, may indicate power loss to the RCM, circuit/ground issues, or the RCM itself.. Do the blower/temp controls function? They share the same power distribution fuse.. Your best bet is to have someone read the code/s through the DLC (diagnostic link connector) and to see if there's communication with the RCM..
