2003 4.6 Expedition full tune up
I have a 2003 Expedition 4.6 , it recently started to misfire , run very rough . And lost power, loud banging sound from right side , found that the converters are bad ..
I took it into a local shop , I was quoted $ 1,200 just for doing a complete tune up , with ignition coils also . I had 1 go bad a couple years back , replaced it and it cost like $ 25 for the coil . So, this quote sounds really high to me , I am trying to find out if a 2003 4.6 expedition is something special , is it harder to do a tune up on this truck ? Is $ 1,200 a average price
or is my thought correct of this shop really trying to make allot of money ?

Maybe some help,
There is no such thing these days as a "Tune Up"
Regular scheduled maintenance per owner's manual is what is followed.
Parts last longer,????? and replacement is required when malfunctioning.
The regular scheduled maintenance is critical and neglect can get expensive.
There is no recommended schedule for replacing ignition coils, but a lot of times if one goes south, to sort of prevent any inconvenience some places will replace them all.
There is a wealth of info in the owner's manual and a good cup of coffee and comfortable chair may help clarify some concerns.
