Hello all,

Lots of conflicting information regarding Tcase fluid.

I think the car originally called for some sort of Mercron? Then it went to XL-12...and now that's been superceded by Mercron LV?

Can someone please confirm what fluid I need? Its a 2008 Expedition Eddie Bauer 4x4 with the 5.4L.

Let me know if more info is needed.

Also, a semi related question...how do I know whether I have a resr LSD? What axle code signifies a LSD?

My manual states XL12

The issue is that its been discontinued. My question was to confirm whether Mercron LV is the correct superceded fluid.

The dealership guy said it was, but he sounded a little unsure...

Don't wanna damage my transfer case. Anyone know for sure? Does Ford cite this anywhere?
