2015 Ford Expedition - Gas & DTE issue after fuel pump/ sender replacement
Looking for any helpful input on “next steps” after attempted repair of fuel gauge / DTE issue:
my wife’s 2014 expedition gas gauge was giving her fits for some time and finally after stranding her, i bucked up researched the probable issue and bought a new
Motorcraft fuel pump / sending unit. Dropped the tank, installed, put it back together and to my delight the fuel gas and dte (previously reading E) were showing 1/2 tank (which is about what was in the tank) and around 200 miles to empty.
Feeling proud of myself for the repair, I drove it down to the gas station for a top off and confirmation of my repair. Filled her up…. But tank still reads 1/2 full, DTE still reads slightly under 200.
Arg! I’m puzzled.
I’ve turned it on and off a dozen times, rocked the crap out of it thinking maybe the sending unit/ float got stock.
any advice?
🙏

Are you sure you didn't bend or hook the float arm on anything in the tank, I dont think there are any hoses in the tank but not sure.
You could drop the tank again, unplug the pump, hook the old one back up and have someone watch the gas guage needle as you slowly move the arm through its full range.
