2017 Expedition hard downshifting
I have a 2017 expedition. The issue is a hard downshift intermittently from 2nd gear to 1st. Ive had the truck to the dealership and they rebuilt the Valve Body. Didn't change a thing. Anyone have any other ideas what would cause this issue?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!
Repairs were covered under warranty. Still have to bring it back to the dealer. I have a 2 year extended warranty. So IhI plenty of time to bring it back. Trying to get an idea if the valve body wasn't the problem, what else could it be. I'd like to go back with some information regarding what may be causing this downshift issue. Thanks!
It's good that you want to familiarize yourself with some aspects of automatic trans operation, however, you may find the more you learn, the more complicated a cause and solution can be.
Some service personnel don't take favorably to instructions from a customer who could be right or wrong , it doesn't matter, sometimes a problem exists there.
If it helps,
Something that could help could be providing as much information relating to circumstances present at the time the problem presents itself. Sometimes there exists a canned fix which can be used and other times a lot depends on the info provided by the customer. The problem with the vehicle most likely is not the first time they have come across it.
Sometimes they will attempt to correct it by using past experience and other times a more thorough procedure is required. Patience helps a lot at these times.
