'97 Expy Gear Trouble
Hello all, new to this Forum and could use some serious help.
The day I went on a road trip to Vegas (250 miles) I did an oil change and transmission oil change that morning. On the way to Vegas about 70 miles out my RPM's ramped up high almost like not catching the gear on the last steep hill to Vegas. I pushed in the Overdrive buttom on the gear shifter and it engaged at 50 mph and about 3000 rpms, and about 60 at 4000 rpms, etc.....I stopped at a rest stop thinking it may help but once we got back on the road same thing. If the Overdrive is "off" the Expy will go about 50-60 mph and about 3K-4K rpm and it really freaking me out. I've read on some post about cleaning some connectors, or changing out the shifter soleniod or something about the TCC? I really don't know where to begin looking for the right connectors to clean or what to check. I have the Clinton's book on my Expy but it's not very clear on where some of these items are located. Can anyone give me any suggestions on what to do, for a semi DIY? Other than taking to the Dealer first. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
