Default Air Conditioning Issue 2006 Expedition Eddie Bauer

Hi,

I had my local mechanic replace my compressor, condenser and recharge the system. The compressor was replaced because it died. The vehicle has a front and rear system.

The rear system blows out cold air the front doesn't blow cold air. The system was charged according to specs for the dual system. I forget the specs.

We checked the blend door behind the glove box it opens and closes as per AC electronic controls require.

Anyone have an idea what we are missing and why I can't get cold air out of the front?

Thank you,
Doug Z

Can you tell us if the lines going to the front evaporator are getting cold?

Hi Hanky,

Thank you for your response. If I remember correctly no the lines do not get cold.

Question when a compressor goes would the expansion valve get clogged and need to be replaced?

Would a bad expansion valve create the problem I have?

Doug

Both questions get a ,,Yes !
Usually, depending on type of compressor failure, accumulator and exp valve, or orifice , get replaced.
Good practice is to flush the system and install an in line filter.
