Interior door handle tab broken

Interior door handle tab broken
I have a replacement for the interior door handle for my 2003 ford expedition
The old one came out just fine but when sliding it back into place the tab on top where the metal rod goes snapped off....
I have the tab, I either need to know how to glue that sucker back on... Or what the heck the part for that panel inside the door is...
Something so simple went so wrong..
