I have a 98 Ford Explorer and when I come to an idle it stalls out. I changed the plugs and replaced the IAC, MAC, EGR, and o2censors and still have the problem. Any suggestions?

I am having similiar problems with my 2000 Mercury Sable. Received the P1074 and P1071 errors. No vacumn leaks noted, replaced a collapsed PCV valve, and am wondering what the electrical test requirements are for the MAF. I have a multi-meter, and would like to test before I spend 120 bucks for a new one.

Runs great, other than it goes rough when idle, and past few days has gotten worse.

ODC codes tell me running lean/rich with fuel.

I am new to this, but would rather test this instead of replacing O2 sensors. I have 135K miles on the car.

Any ideas?

I am having a problem with stalling at idle or when going very slow. The check engine light does not come on with the problem. But I have been at a stop waiting to cross a line of traffic and have the car die in the middle of the road, a very scary situation. Seems like a lot of people are having the same problem, but not many have seemed to solve the problem.

All the problems I was experiencing, rough idle, the stalls, bad 02 sensors on my 00 Sable, was due to 15 dollars worth of intake gaskets. I had a leak hardly noticable on the top, when sprayed with brake fluid, but it got worse. Found leak on lower intake as well. Also, replaced the PCV valve and elbow as precautionary. but the leak at one time never noticable, ended up getting worse. All started with the 171/174 codes (I think them were the ones... Good luck. Guy at Autozone said all alone "vacumn leak".. I just wish I had the time to do myself. 270 in labor. 20 for parts But working great again with 145K miles on it

Default stalling when slowing down

I had a problem to idle. the rpm would drop and stall. my abs would also kick in just as i stopped. so i took the fuse out for the abs and all stalling issues stopped. that was 3 years ago and never had a issue since.the fuse is under the hod in the box. relay. I HAVE A 2001 EXPLORER SPORT 4.0 4*4
