1998 Ford Explorer EATC Control Question
Hello all, Hope this finds everyone well. Had a quick question and thought maybe someone on here may be able to offer some guidance. From Colorado so its going to be getting cold here pretty quick. So the thing is I have a 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Baur Edition with the EATC. Well the heat doesn't seem to want to work. Heater core and everything is good. The A/C almost seemed to have been stuck on so I unhooked the pressure switch to force it off and still nothing. The EATC was at 90 degrees and the air coming out of the vents felt more like 45....so I was like WTF. I assumimg it has to be a problem with the actual EATC or possibly the blend door?? I read about the blend door on another post on here, but why would the AC clutch keep engaging I guess is the question. Hope someione can offer some guidance. Thanks in advance.

EATC probs
My 1998 Eddie Bauer 6-cy SOHC is still giving me fits with the EATC. I have replaced blend door and am watching the actuator turn is correctly. The self-diagnostic test comes up 888 but getting only slightly warm air when it 50 degress in the cabin and EATC head is calling for 90. AC compressor is running (AUTO, FLOOR, etc is selected not Defrost) and the heater control valve is not opening - if I disconnect the vacuum line the valve opens and all is well for heat inside the cabin. I believe the head unit is malfunctioning because the AC comp is on and the heater control valve stays shut - but it shows 888 !!!
