Does this ford explorer have the same automatic transmission that the 2002 explorer had

 

One way to know and be pretty sure is to see what the trans code is for your vehicle. That code is shown on the sticker either on the driver's side door edge or door pillar.
Post it here and we should be able to at least tell you which trans is in your vehicle at this time,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, if,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, it has never been replaced.

 

I believe the 2002 had a 5 speed with overdrive automatic trans. do you know what your 2004 has?
