2008 Ford Explorer Crank but No Fire
I have a 2008 Ford Explorer. Crank but no Fire. It started out at first as a problem after car sat for awhile like over night. Now it’s more often. I will run to gas station, then it won’t start. Wait 30 minutes or less then it starts. No check engine light no codes. I have replaced mass air flow sensor, coolant temp sensor, and soon crank shaft sensor. Any other ideas?
Before replacing anything,we should check for 2 things, fuel and spark. There are several possibilities for there to be no fuel or no spark.
If you find you have one but not both, you just reduced your work by 50%.
Once you determine which is missing you can concentrate on that system.
A crank sensor can be the cause for no spark and don't usually throw a code.
There are a few items that can produce a no or inadequate fuel situation.
If it will not start , you can remove a spark plug and see if it is wet or dry.
You can also check for spark at any one of the spark plugs to determine is you are getting spark to ignite the fuel mixture.
Can you do this?
