Default 2019 Explorer Platinum console led lights not working

Just wanted to know if the led(s) should light up. Wife hates that they don’t. Took to dealer and they said that they are not supposed to. Is this true or not?

These leds do not illiminate

Post a picture of what area lights you are talking about, Console is a big area, be specific in the picture or post more specific details.

Sales people do unknowingly lie about features that one trim level but not another, they dont bother to find out, then the buck gets passed to service to deal with a non problem. not saying thats what happend here but it happens semi regularly.

Does the instrument cluster display what gear the vehicle is in?
The workshop manual does not say if the shifter is suppose to be lighted, generally if the gear is displayed on the instrument cluster then the shifter doesnt light up to show which gear.
I am about 80% sure the P,R,N,D,S are suppose to be blue when the headlights are on, same as the back lighting for the radio/AC controls, these lights brightness can be adjusted either by the headlight switches or in the instrument cluster menu.

That seems like a malfunction to me. The gear positions (P, R, N, D, S) should light up depending on the position the gear is in. Moreover, you mentioned the backlighting for the radio/AC controls isn't working either. To me, it seems like you are encountering some internal wire issues with your interior car lights. It is strange that they told you at the dealer that that's how it should be. If I were you, I would consult with another shop and see what they have to say about it.
