Thumbs down 2021 Explorer Hybrid - 14 MPG City

I have a brand new Ford Explorer Hybrid Platinum. I live in New York City. I knew it would be a stretch to get 23mpg city, but I am getting 14 and that is ridiculous. The dealer laughs and tells me to take it in to the shop. I called Ford Customer service and they transferred me to a dead line.

I don't understand why they would put out a hybrid that gets worse mileage than the gas trucks. Anyone having te same problem?

It's under warranty, I would follow their advice and have your vehicle checked out in their service dept. However, as you stated it is brand new. Let it break in before taking any action.

This may sound silly, but where are you parking your vehicle? Is it in a secure place where no one can get near it?

Which mode are you driving it in most of the time?
