When the engine stalled can you restarted it right up? You have a scanner to check for DTC (not just check engine light)?
1) Locate C111, the MAF shown above.
2) Next time it stalls again, key out then pop the hood and remove just the electrical connector of the MAF
3) Restart it and drive without the MAF, you will get a check engine light but don't worry about it
4) Just drive nearby and don't go too far and see if the engine stalls again or not. You will continue to get rough idling but if it doesn't stall anymore, then your MAF is more than likely defective.
5) Check the connector make sure you don't have a bad wiring. Plug the electrical connector back in the CEL should go away.
If the engine continue to stall then it's not MAF next thing to check is a major vacuum leak. If you have or you can borrow obd2 adapter you can check the LTFT if you have +20 then that's a good indication that you have major vacuum leak. If you do have major leak first check your PCV valve and its hose. A stuck open valve will cause vacuum leak. A stuck closed valve will cause valve cover gasket to have premature failure.
Even if you don't have check engine light you still need to get a capable scanner with Ford enhanced support so you can retrieve all possible DTCs.
