Default 98 explorer spark plug issue??

Ok I'm new here, so bear with me. We have a 98 explorer eddie bauer 4x4 v6 SOHC. After replacing the plugs and wires and changing the oil it is sputtering and missing and is really bad on gas. I've been told to check the Idle Air Control valve and the Mass Airflow sensor. Does this sound like it could be the problem? Also can anyone tell me where these are located or have a diagram? Thanks so much.

Chances are if it were running 'Ok' before the spark plug/wire change (if it wereainterval change) then theIACand MAF probably aren't the problem..You state AFTER the work was done, was it running bad prior to any work? IAC won't be a culpriton an acceleration.. Coil pack issues can make for a misfire, as can a bad injector/s.. Or if plug wires were install out of order.. Any CEL with the misfire/running condition?

Here's afew pics of the MAF and IAC (IAC is a generic image but similiar)
