Default F-150 Spark Plug Issue

I have read so many stories about how expensive changing the plugs on my 2007 5.4 Triton I was almost ready to sell it. Instead I took a chance. I only have 73K miles and took my truck for a tune up and to change all the plugs to the local Ford dealer where I live now which is Troy, Alabama.
I ended up VERY PLEASED. None broke and my total bill out the door was $324.00 I know it is higher than the days we all changed our own plugs and "Remember" Points, LOL. But still very pleased versus the stories I read where it was costing 1k or more. Ken *** Ford is where I took it and they have a mechanic there that knows how to get the plugs out without them coming apart. Hope this helps someone put there.

Default Any Experience

I live in the Charlotte NC area and was wondering if anyone has experience with a garage other than local Ford place that could change these plugs?

Exactly, you got a good tech expierenced with removing these plugs.

Is ford redesigning this problem or do they continue to make and use these plugs?

Well i finally bit the bullet. I feel i have been rapped by Ford and my local dealership (Mooresville Ford). Flat rate on spark plug change was $495.00 then 6 of them broke so it cost me extra 1/2 hr labor per plug. When i left it cost me a total of $793.15 to change 8 plugs.

8 Bosch, 4 prong plugs on my 1997 5.4 Expedition, two days, two guys, around $430 and change.
I could change all 12 on my double six Jag in 20 minutes, hot.

skip.
