Default 98 PU coil squeel ?

What is up with this? I spent all day trying to locate a bad bearing on my 98 5.0 Explorer. After giving up and replacing the WP (what else would it be) I started it up and the same bad bearing sound existed! I removed the Belt and still heard it????? Pulled out the electronic PU coil (old distributer and found that oil is not finding its way into the shaft to keep it lubed up. Why and what is the fix. I slid it apart and put molydisulfide grease on it and so far so good but sure its not permanent. Can I mess up the timing upon replacement. I think I got lucky even though I took care to replace it in the same position..

Help,
Marc
