Another friend said the same thing, is it true that you can take it off clean it and re-install it, and if so what would be the best cleaner, carb cleaner ?

Replace the IAC valve and your problems will be solved. A new Ford replacement part will be around $80.00

definitely replace the IAC valve....and definitely do it yourself. I was having the same trouble just 2 weeks ago and that turned out to be the problem on my '95....cost me about 40-50 I think for the new valve, and was a CINCH to replace...took literally like 3 minutes...2 screws/bolts and it's off and back on.

actually you may be correct, however mine was definitely bad....sea foam, injector cleaner, all that stuff didn't help. I used a multi-meter to test the voltage, resistance, etc. and they were no good, that is how I knew the valve was bad and that I actually needed to replace it. Does this make sense Ramrod48? Or did I **** away $50.00?
