hi i have a 1999 ford explorer and it has auto,high and low and i want to change it to 2wd cause i hate that auto when it kicks in ijust don't like it so what would i have to do to make it 2wd all the time untill i switched it high or low? can i take a 1999 or 2006 ford ranger transfer case. umm and would i have to change the wiring and if it has a computer for it would i have to change that? please let me know thanks.

 

Kinda' sad to take a 4WD and make it 2WD - but - just drop the front and rear driveshafts and transmission, possibly the wiring harness and replace with the 2WD driveshaft and trans., possibly wiring. Not too tough if you're a transmission mechanic.
