Default bearing problem?

i have an '04 AWD, i have noticed for the past week that the rear wheel on the driver side had been smelling a burn brake pad. i had the brake pads change lately and checked if it was acting up weird but seems ok, the calipers are working fine also. one time i just came home and had the burnt smell again and this time the wheel was really hot. i had it lifted and checked, there is a limited play on that wheel compared to the other side. so i was thinking the ABS might be the problem... lately i have been ignoring the light on ABS cause it comes and goes same with the 4x4 high light...

anyone have any suggestions?
thanks

Sounds like you have a caliper hanging on you and not totally releasing the pads like it should. This will cause excessive heat, the smell of break lining and cook the bearing grease.

i have change the old calipers which were very rusty and noticed also that they wouldn't budge/retract as a new/refurbished one...

solution : change the calipers and if the brake pads are burnt change them also...

thanks...
