Default brakes and locks

hey guys, im not a forum newb but never been on the ford forums. well just searched to see if there was a brake diy but didnt find any. i am pretty sure i can do it as brakes are straight forward, just looking for a reference as i my bro was just wondering if i could do them for him. the dealer or shop wanted 750 for all new pads and rotors and i said that was crazy and i would help him... so is there any do it yourself write ups?

also his driver side door lock does not go up with with the key fob, and still gives him trouble when he tries to unlock it with his key, any suggestions?

Well i just replaced my rotor and pad, shoes, etc. on my 1999 Ford Explorer and paid $300 at Just Brakes, they said the Caliper needed to be replaced too but I told them to leave it alone. I told them to just change the rotor and pad, shoes and that would aid in the Caliper running better. They said the reading was 896 and the minimum reading was 965.
