A/C hot and cold
When I turn on the A/C the drivers side(vent by window and center vent) blows hot air and the passengers side (vent by window and center vent) blows cold air. What could be the problem. I have a 2002 Explorer XLT V6.

I had the same problem with my 03 explorer. You would think that the two center vents would cool at the same time since they are only inches apart but the way the ducts are under the dash the cold air has much longer to travel to come out the driver's vent and if the units not putting out enough cold air it doesn't make the trip. I finally got around to fixing my problem today. It took one 13oz. can of R134A refrigerant. I knew this was the problem since my compressor was cycling on and off every five to ten seconds. Turn on your a/c and look at the compressor clutch which is part of the belt pulley, if it's cycling on and off every few seconds it's low on refrigerant. The compressor should run for a few minutes and only be off for a few seconds. Now all of my vents get very very cold at the same time instantly.
