car wont go into drive

Unhappy car wont go into drive
1996 ford explorer awd v8 replaced rear brake line no the car doesn't go into drive the gear lever doesn't move, the only way to drive it is to start the car in neutral then place it in drive its like it is not sensing my foot on the brake
