Default Does computer have anything to do with the transmission

Have a 99 explorer, have had problems with it running. Put a new computer in it and now the transmission will act like it is not in gear or comes out of gear while driving....HELP.

The short answer is yes; the tcm/pcm governs the transmission operation. It may or may not be the cause of your trans problem. You may have a hard part failure that is nothing to do with the module. More information is needed.

which module did you replace? Did you install a new or used module? Was it installed by a dealer or yourself? Was it programmed before installation. Why exactly did the module need replacement? How soon after replacement did the trans problem occur? Modules have shift adapts....putting a different module into a old transmission without resetting the shift adapts would cause harsh shifts for the first couple days until the trans adjusts the shift timing.

I would check for dtc first as a starting point.

Your problem description is vague. So you put it in gear and you have no forward or rearward movement? Is the trans slipping? Elaborate.
