Default Explorer 2010 shuts off randomly

Dear Valued members. My 2010 Explorer after I have cleaned the throttle body the car started to shut off randomly showing oil light. I turn the engine off and then restart the car, then it will work until next shutdown. I was thinking it is becuase of the throttle position and I need to reset it. So on Youtube, a mechanic was mentioning the following way to reset the throttle position

1- unplug the negative battery terminal

2- short it with the +ve terminal for few minutes.

3- reconnect and start the car

4- leave it running for about 15 min.

I'm not sure if this process is correct or not. If not can anyone explain the right process. The other question is, the symptoms that I have explained in the beginning are they caused by the cleaning of the throttle or there is another issue. Thank you for your help

It appears correct except,

when you go to start the engine, turn the key on, wait 5-10 seconds without touching the accelerator pedal then start the engine, not touching the accelerator pedal and it will set it's own cold idle speed and after it runs a few minutes it should be OK.

Thank you Hanky for the response. So the procedure is applied to 90% correct should I do re-do the whole learning process taking into account the cold idle or let it go and the car shall learn it by default

Hello Hanky. The issue still persists but not as frequent as before and today I have noticed while I'm waiting at the traffic light I get the feeling that the engine is about to shut off but it does not. Is this still caused by the throttle or you think there is something else

Most times the system will account for a small vacuum leak and adjust accordingly. When it is more than it can cover, then we begin to notice a problem.

One of the methods to determine if a vacuum leak is a problem is to watch the fuel trims and that requires a good scan tool plus knowing what you are looking at.
