Extended warranty
I own a 2013 Explorer XLT with 81k miles. When I bought the truck new in 2013, I also bought a Ford 7 year , 100,000 mile Premium Extended warranty, which I have used and basically recouped the cost of my warranty with repairs made under the contract. The Ford warranty is up next April and I have a choice of either trading it in with a dealer trade in value today of $11K or purchase a 3 year extension of the premium Warranty for $1880. The truck is in excellent condition and still rides and runs like new. I’m seriously considering keeping the truck and buying the warranty, which I feel is a necessity with any newer car with all of electronics. What are opinions on extending the warranty bs trading in and buying a new Explorer and taking on a new car loan? Input, is appreciated.

What’s the total coverage of the new warranty?
Miles you drive a year are staying the same?
Mileage limitation on the 3 years?
If it’s in nice shape, your happy with it,, I’d think extending the coverage to address any potential repairs (depending on coverage) wouldn’t be a bad idea.
New car tax, license would easily be more than the 3 year investment “if it covers you” for all the high cost $$ risk, and for nearly half of the mileage on it now.
