On my 92 the gas gauge doesn't work and when you start up the car the tach goes all the way over then goes to about 3600 and stays there the whole time untill the engine is turned off. My dad said he drove through a ditch and both gauges worked right for a few days but i am not sure i didn't see it. Could it be a ground and how would i find it? Or if you have any other pointers i would appreciate it

Default RE: i need help with my 92 explorer sport

Im having the same problem with mine, that is, with the Gas Gauge, and a friend of mine who owns a body shop went through my car and fixed all of the electric problems, and thats what I figured the problem is, but it wasn't. He said that the problem was rooted deeper then just wiring, it was a complicated process that required removing the gas tank. Anyway when I find out more, Ill be sure to repost.
