odometer and trip dont work
#4
very common. the trip and odometer work separate from the speedo. the cheap gears used to turn the numbers dry out and break and also hard resetting of the trip meter button can cause the gears to slip on the shaft and there for they don't make contact anymore, it is difficult to remove and disassemble the gauge cluster, and you have to decided if the effort is really worth it, mine worked great for years than all of a sudden it stopped. I just use a digital dash on my phone or stereo if I need to measure and see the distance....good luck.

The problem with using this solution is in my State of Pennsylvania we have yearly emission and safety inspections and if your odometer reading matches the one on record from last year they won't pass you for state inspections. I'm scrambling now to find someone to fix my odometer so I can get it to pass inspection.
