Default overheating

Our 98 V6 with 98,000 has an overheating problem. Yesterday my wife saw the light on and the guauge over on H. She pulled over and idled the engine and it went back to normal quickly. She had to do this again befor reaching home. It doesn't act like a suck thermostat. What could cause this? Thanks

Default RE: overheating

maybe its a plugged line. or maybe you just dont have enough coolant in it, too much water, or too much coolant. could also be the water pump. go get the radiator and cooling system flushed and then see how it goes. also it might be your fan doing its job.
