2015 Explorer
It leak coolant before but the mechanic fixed it. He said he replaced water pump and oil pan gasket. No visible leaking now.
But it have strong plastic burning smell after highway driving. Smell like engine id very hot and burn the plastic but I can’t see any burning signs in engine bay. The engine bay does have some cat fur.

 

 

If the smell wasn't there prior to the work being done, maybe a return to the shop for a checkup. From here, a smell would be hard to pinpoint. But you for sure want to make sure it's not running over temp...

So,, it was leaking coolant at the pump, and had an oil leak?

 

It leaked coolant before, Not leak oil.
The bad mechanic said 2 times he fixed it and no leaking but still leak.
The last time he said he have to change oil pan gasket to stop leaking and charge for it.
Finally it don't leak coolant now.
But engine very hot and plastic burning smell after highway driving...
I don't want to go back to them(The mechanic is mobile and I paid him cash and didn't have receipt).
I will let another shop to check it tomorrow.

 

Did you ever figure out what was going on?
