ok.before i get started i just want to cover my tracks..im a honda man and dont know to much about fords..im doing a transmission fluid change for my cousin,she has a 98 explorer.do i have to remove the pan?and if i do, when i put it back what it the torque(inch lbs,or ft lbs,and what #?),and i know it uses type f fluid,how many qts.does the car have to be on when i check the fluid?,and does it have to be on level ground?...i checked the fluid and it was dark black..i always thought tranny fluid was red..lol..
