Default water in rear end

the vent hose going to the rear axle of my 2001 4x4 explorer broke, and while launching a boat water got into the rear end,
so, I had this white sludge.
I had the rear end drained and refilled,. yesterday,
the mechanic said to get another drain and refill, as there is still some white sludge .??
so,, i shall drive around and get the oil hot, and try in a few days to get another drain and refill.
I am probly ok, for now???????
there appears to be NO bearing sounds or any other bad sounds....

Any Idea how long you may have drove around with water in it ?? , an was it fresh or salt ??

It will take several flush's to remove the water, what your seeing is just in the pumpkin, it still has to work it outta the axle tubes an the outer brg pockets,, I wouldnt be surprized if the outer axle brg failed in a few yrs. depending on how much water got in there .

So yea take it out on a long drive to get it hot an drain rite away,,, Good Luck

i will drain and refill again in a few weeks,
