Default Water leak out rear of block.

My 94 E250 300ci six has developed a water leak out the rear of the block between the block and the transmission bell housing. No water in the engine oil. I'd have to pull the transmission to see the leak. Does anyone know of a schematic online, or in a book, that would show the engines coolant reservoir? I'm seriously considering ditching the van as the problems are getting to be just too many and the transmission need overhaul anyways. AT about 13mpg it's getting a little expensive to drive it as well.

Sounds like a freeze plug in the back of the block. Easy to change once the tranny and flywheel/flex plate are removed.

Shouldn't be afraid of the freeze plug. Just a cheap $5 job to pop in yourself. It's the trans. that would cost if it's too bad - of course they do have some cheaper overhaul kits for automatics as long as it doesn't have overdrive it's not beyond the average guy if you have a book for parts breakdown and torque specifications.
